Meet Colin Bolton

Colin Bolton is not a coach who has only read about leadership. He has lived it across four continents, through large-scale organizational transformations, major restructures, mergers, and some of the most complex change programs in the energy and financial services industries.

Over a 15-year career at Royal Dutch Shell, Colin led enterprise transformation programs across North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He delivered some of the most significant operational and technology programs of his era, including Shell's first major SAP S/4HANA deployment in North American midstream. He did this during COVID-19, virtually, and on time.

At Western Financial Group, Colin served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Transformation and as an Internal Executive Coach for senior and emerging leaders. He built and led the EPMO, Lean and Process Improvement, and Organizational Change Management functions, while simultaneously developing the next generation of leadership across the organization.

In January 2026, Colin founded Nexplan Institute to take what he had learned across three decades and bring it directly to the leaders who need it most. Executives navigating identity disruption. Leaders stepping into expanded mandates. Young professionals searching for direction and structure in an uncertain world.

He created the 3R Framework, a proprietary coaching methodology built on emotional intelligence, identity clarity, mindset and behavior change, and strategic activation. It is the foundation of everything he does at Nexplan Institute.
